Trivia Question

So I look out my hotel room window and there is a mural on four story high wall that says welcome to "The Electric City". So riddle me this why is Scranton called the electric city?

Kids embrace technology

I give praise to my new friend Tom-Tom. Having to pull off to the side of the road as the suction cup let go, Utter and I had a lengthy discussion on which way to take next. To my surprise Tom-Tom spoke up and pointed us down route 87 in eastern PA and let me tell you. This fancy piece of technology lead me to a road specially built for this bike and me.

Semi Hands On Glass Making

Ok when I signed up to make something myself out of glass I was thinking it would be more hands on. But instead I finally got to use all that hot air I have. All said and done, I can say it was fun seeing the process and being feet from a 2100 toaster oven. Can you say toasted bagel in 2.2 nano seconds. Off to Scranton PA

Corning Glass Museum

It is amazing what these artist can do with glass. It all starts with nano sized grains of silicon and are worked into master pieces. My stop here today was to make something out of glass and to let the kids watch. Check out the website for the museum to Learn more. And for those of you wondering, no I did not break anything in the glass shop

Oooops

Sorry still trying to figure out blogging and walking at the same time. May have se duplicate pictures posted. Some of the new ones are of downtown Corning NY. over the bridge we go. Would hate to be the janitor for Corning Glass Co. Can you say "pay me by the window please"

The Iron Horse

Well my sister sent a text and wanted to know what my stallion looked like. So when I awoke this morning to a nice sunny day I thought I would load the bags up (PhD in packing required) and snap a few shots of the bike. Heard there was a killer action shot on Erie news last night. My 15 seconds of fame for the kids.

Also you will meet my new passenger 'Utter'.

And I thought I had enough excitement for the day...

135 miles into the trip and I found myself thanking my friend and co-worker for using his Tom-Tom. I was a good 45 miles outside of Corning with 19 miles til empty on my gas. So I plugged in the fancy gps and it pointed me in the right direction. Thanks Mike and Brother Dale. By the way I can appreciate your comment even more now Andy.

Not a Good Sign Upon Check In at Hotel

Well I have to admit typing on the iPhone is going to make blogging very interesting. I am confined to using my phone as the Radisson Hotel's wireless is not working. Imagine telling you customer you can't take their money because your cash register is broken. Oh well well find a McDonalds and get caught up on emails and such in the morning. The kids will like tomorrows events. I have a date with the world of glass making. Did I mention the rollercoaster of events, let's just say with out the support of our main man at work (Gary) and companies like Chick-Fil-A, Cycle City, Advertising Advantage, Country Fair and others this may not have been possible. The best part is I educated about 10 people who I ran into today about Royal Family Kids Camp. Even picked up a sponsor in Corning here. Thanks for the support.
